Saint Francisco Marto
Francisco Marto, a gentle, quiet boy, was only 8 years old when Mary appeared to him, his sister Jacinta, and their cousin, Lúcia, in Fátima, Portugal. After the apparitions, Francisco loved to pray alone in front of the Blessed Sacrament “to console Jesus for the sins of the world,” and he began fasting and doing penance for souls. He died of influenza in 1918 at the age of 10.
