Saint Thomas More
Thomas More was a famous English lawyer and personal councillor to King Henry VIII. He passionately opposed the king’s vision of Church reformation and was beheaded for it. But before his death, More had established himself as a true man of God who could still honor his king. “I die the king's good servant, but God's first,” were his words prior to death. More’s most popular book, Utopia, addresses various social topics and has become one of the most widely studied books in history.
