Saint Valentine

Valentine was a Roman priest of the early Christian church around the year 300. During that time, Christianity was outlawed. Legend has it that Valentine secretly performed Christian weddings in defiance of the law. For that, he was arrested, beaten and sentenced to death. While in prison, Valentine healed the jailer’s daughter from blindness. Before he was executed, Valentine wrote a note to the girl wishing her happiness. He signed the letter “Your Valentine.”
