(Special Edition) Thomas Merton

(Special Edition) Thomas Merton

After a rambunctious youth and young adulthood, Merton became a Trappist monk and dove deep into the work of contemplation and prayer. Translating that into action, Merton became “the conscience of the peace movement of the 1960's.” He wrote over sixty books and hundreds of poems and articles on topics ranging from monastic spirituality to civil rights, nonviolence, and the nuclear arms race.
