Venerable Michael McGivney
Father Michael McGivney was a beloved parish priest, remembered by many as "a man of the people. He was zealous of the people's welfare." In 1882, Father McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus at a local parish to provide financial and personal support to those in need. Today, more than 1.8 million knights contribute about $160 million and 70 million hours of volunteer service to charitable causes each year.
